Gayance announces her debut single on Rhythm Section INTL, ‘Nunca Mais’, a stunning ethereal house groove laden with soulful femininity and Detroit swing
Gayance (real name Aïsha Vertus) takes her alias from the Haitian creole word for joyfulness. Born & raised in Montreal-Nord, she started as a DJ in 2013, and has been touring the world in Paris, Amsterdam, Brooklyn, Marrakech, Berlin, Sao Paulo and more, bringing electrifying and contagious energy wherever she goes.
‘Nunca Mais’ features co-production from Dutch producer, LAZA. The track moves with lucid momentum as Aïsha pays homage to Brazil (a spiritual home close to her heart), with a freestyle lyrical performance. She is fluent in French, English, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese. The way she uses these tongues in her music creates a paradigm for Gayance to express feelings that are only reachable in certain places around the world.
As Aïsha says herself: This song was made at a moment when I was starting to set my boundaries in regard to how I was being treated by people who had patriarchal values. It’s a freestyle made on a song I’ve co-produced with Amsterdam-based artist LAZA (United Identities, Darker The Wax). In my freestyle, I sing with my heart in Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and English. For me, the only way to truly express emotions is by being multilingual. A reality I have as a Montreal born.

Haitian-Canadian artist. Making jazzy-house with Brazilian spices so you can make out with your crush. Highly influenced by
the beat scene of 2007-2018 and the broken break / bruk mouvement in West London.
You are not your body, one of those tracks that creeps up on you and drags you right in! Fave track of '22...had to go back and grab the vinyl. The ReFrame
